The base module is a configurable safety control unit that can be used as a stand-alone device. Communication with expansion modules is through an internal 5-way bus.

The safety function previously configured on the PC can be directly installed via USB. The base module also features a memory card slot.

Depending on the module variant, the input modules can be expanded by an additional 8, 12 or 16 safety inputs.

Up to 4 additional expansion units of the same type (e.g. input module) can be connected to the base module. This allows a maximum number of 128 safety inputs to be achieved.

The output expansions extend the number of safe OSSD outputs in steps of two or four.

Up to 4 additional expansion units of the same type (e.g. input module) can be connected to the base module. This allows a maximum number of 16 safety outputs.

The expansion modules with relay outputs have up to 4 force-guided NO relay contacts. They have been designed to handle 6A and 240V AC. In addition, up to 8 electronic control outputs are available for diagnostics.

The speed modules monitor standstill, maximum speed, a defined speed range and the rotation direction. In addition, up to 4 switching thresholds can be configured per axis.

Up to 1 fieldbus module can be connected to the base module via the T-connector at the back of the module. The status is displayed via LEDs on the front.

Decentralised positioning of the eloProg I/O modules is achieved through the bus transfer modules.

The 485 EPT1 module is for use at the beginning and end of the connection; and type 485 EPT2 is for the middle.
This means up to six eloProg module stations with a maximum bus length of 250 m can be implemented. This makes it the perfect solution for large machinery and systems with a reduced wiring effort and expense.

The compact design of the 4621273E safety evaluation unit allows it to be used even in applications with limited space.

A potential-free safety output in SIL3/PLe up to 4A and a control output with change-over contacts up to 3A are available. A maximum of 4 sensors with normally open/ normally closed contacts can be connected. Input expansion units (interfaces) can’t be used. Due to the 24V AC and DC supply voltage, the unit can be used for a wide range of applications.
