3. How we use it

- to process, ship and invoice orders, and to provide technical support, warranty and return handling;
- to keep business records as required by law, including tax and accounting records;
- to protect the website and our systems against fraud and misuse;
- to understand how the website is used and improve it, where you have accepted analytics cookies;
- to send product or company news by email, only where you have agreed to receive it. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell or rent personal information.
4. Consent
By sending us a quote request, an enquiry or a chat message, you agree to us using your information to respond and to carry out the purposes above. Analytics cookies are used only with your consent through the cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting us or by using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent may mean we cannot complete a quote or order.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only where needed for the purposes above, with:
- Manufacturers we represent, where needed to confirm availability, pricing, technical details, warranty or returns for your request;
- Service providers who help us run our business, such as website hosting (Bluehost), email, live chat (tawk.to), analytics (Google, Microsoft), shipping carriers and our accountants. They may use the information only to provide their services to us;
- Authorities, where required by law, or to protect our rights, property or safety;
- A buyer or successor, if our business or part of it is sold or reorganized, under confidentiality obligations.
6. Storage outside Canada
Some of our service providers and the manufacturers we work with store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. When information is outside Canada it is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessed by its authorities. We choose providers that protect information to a standard comparable to ours.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as required by law. As a guide, quote enquiries that do not lead to an order are kept for up to three years, and order and invoice records are kept for at least seven years to meet Canadian tax requirements. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
8. How we protect it
We use reasonable physical, organizational and technical safeguards, such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), access limited to staff who need it, and password-protected systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify the people affected and the Privacy Commissioner as required by law.
9. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and how it has been used and shared;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- stop using your information for a purpose you previously agreed to, such as marketing emails;
- delete information we no longer need to keep.
Send your request to our Privacy Officer (section 12). We will respond within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or, in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information.
