DOLD PCB relays: safety, standard, miniature and bistable relay families

DOLD's PCB relays are electromechanical relays for direct mounting on a printed circuit board. Their task is to switch loads while keeping the control side galvanically isolated from the load side. The range falls into four families: safety relays with forcibly guided contacts, standard PCB relays, miniature relays in DIL format and bistable relays. Depending on type, loads up to 16 A can be switched with little coil power, and a single contact set can hold as many as eight contacts.

Relays with forcibly guided contacts are the usual choice in circuits that monitor emergency stop buttons, safety gates or light barriers. DOLD also names railway signalling, control systems for passenger and goods lifts, and medical equipment as typical fields of use. In all of these the relay is one link in a chain that protects people and machinery, so its contact state has to be known at all times.

Contact sets can be adapted to the job. Partially equipped sets raise insulation values, mixed assemblies combine single and double contacts, and the contact material can be matched to the load. Sensitive coils or bistable operation cut energy use, and matching relay sockets allow a relay to be swapped quickly in service. Browse the four subcategories below to compare the individual models.

  • Galvanic isolation of control and load circuits
  • Loads up to 16 A at low coil consumption
  • Up to 8 contacts in a single contact set
  • Low contact transition resistance
  • Matching relay sockets for quick replacement
