DOLD BH 9253 – Reversing contactor
Reversing contactor
Electronic reversing contactors change the direction of AC motors, with built-in interlocking and optional load monitoring — a compact, lower-cost alternative to a frequency converter for many applications.

DOLD's POWERSWITCH reversing contactors change the direction of rotation of AC motors, and can also start them gently and monitor their load. Built-in diagnostic functions keep you informed about the motor's operating condition. With all functions in one housing, the devices save cabinet space and need little wiring, and they can be a lower-cost alternative to a frequency converter. Typical applications include extruders, pumps, actuators and conveyors.
Three models are available, all UL approved and built to IEC/EN 60947-1 and IEC/EN 60947-4-2, with electrical interlocking of both directions and temperature monitoring of the power semiconductors. The BH 9253 reverses 3-phase asynchronous motors up to 5.5 kW / 400 V (7.5 HP / 460 V), switching at zero crossing rated for nominal currents up to 20 A, in widths of 45, 67.5 or 112.5 mm. The BH 9255 adds current monitoring, and the 90 mm BI 9254 pairs reversing with 2-phase soft start and active power monitoring once the start is complete.
