Individual SAFEMASTER STS modules for building custom interlocking units
SAFEMASTER STS is assembled from a small set of basic modules joined with bayonet locks. What a unit does depends on which modules it contains and how they are arranged, and several units together form a system whose functions follow from how the units are combined. Ordering individual modules lets you build a unit to suit the exact access you need to protect, or expand an existing one.
The building blocks are actuators and actuator modules, which together monitor the position of the moving and fixed parts of a guard; key modules and keys, which enforce operating sequences; padlock modules for lockout; locking modules that keep a guard shut until release; and switch modules that stop hazardous movement when a guard opens. Accessories such as bayonet rings, end modules, mounting plates and replacement key sets complete the kit.
Most modules are made in stainless steel and in FRP, with the FRP version carrying a /K suffix, for example key modules 10 and 10/K or switch modules SX and SX/K. Units built this way suit safety applications up to PL e / Cat. 4 to EN ISO 13849-1, and the modules hold an EU-type test certificate under directive 2006/42/EG, annex IX.
