SAFEMASTER STS key transfer system for safe, sequenced machine access
A key transfer system makes sure a machine is in a safe state before any access to it can be opened. The key is either inserted into a safety switch or used to open a door lock, so operators have to follow a fixed order of steps that cannot be skipped. This gives a high level of safety and lets a large number of separate danger areas be secured.
SAFEMASTER STS combines this wiring-free mechanical principle with electrical safety. A typical layout monitors a busy main access electrically, while doors that are rarely opened are locked purely mechanically with no cables. Purely mechanical units can be mixed with units that add electrical monitoring or electrical release, and FRP and stainless steel units can be used together in one system.
Mechanical units such as the M10A guard lock and M12M key exchange unit provide wiring-free locking. The RX series adds electrical monitoring of actuator or key position, and the YRX series adds guard locking that waits for an enable signal from the machine control. The F-Kit escape release lets a person trapped inside get out. According to DOLD, a correctly structured system can reach category 4 / PL e / SIL 3.

- Wiring-free locking for rarely used accesses
- Mix mechanical, monitored and released units
- Stainless steel and FRP versions combinable
- F-Kit escape release against lock-in
