SAFEMASTER STS solenoid interlocks for two-channel guard locking of machine guards
A solenoid interlock adds a two-channel guard locking function to an electromechanical safety switch. Whether the guard is hinged, removable or sliding, it stays locked as long as a hazard remains, such as machine overtravel, high temperature or pressure, and opens only after a release signal. Solenoid interlocks also serve process protection, preventing someone from interfering with a running process, and they link the PLC with safety relays such as DOLD standstill monitors, speed monitors and safety timers.
Models here are ZRHA (stainless steel) and ZRHBM/K (FRP) with separate actuator, plus key versions ZRH01M, ZRH01M/K, ZRHB01M, ZRHB01M/K and ZRH01BM/K; the /K suffix marks FRP. Key versions add optional key removal and an auxiliary release. When the unit locks, the contacts that monitor the locked position are held; removing the actuator switches its monitoring contacts, and removing the key switches the key monitoring contacts so the actuator can be taken out.
