Type 2 SAFEMASTER STS safety switches for guard door interlocking

These SAFEMASTER STS safety switches are type 2 electromechanical devices that work with a separate actuator. They suit hinged, removable or sliding guards that only make the machine safe once they are shut. Opening the guard must cut hazardous movement immediately and block any restart until it is closed again. The narrow, rugged housing fits on movable guards where space is limited, and the switches are rated up to Cat. 4 / PL e under EN ISO 13849-1.

The part number tells you the material and function: a /K suffix marks the FRP version, the others are stainless steel. SXA (stainless) and SXBM/K (FRP) are the basic switches with separate actuator. SX01BM/K is the FRP switch with actuator and forced key removal, SXB01M/K offers optional key removal, and SX01M and SX01M/K are key-operated switches. A withdrawn key can then secure further entries. If the guard must also stay locked during a hazard, look at the guard lock range instead.

  • SXA / SXBM/K: separate actuator, stainless / FRP
  • SX01BM/K: actuator plus forced key removal
  • SXB01M/K: actuator with optional key removal
  • SX01M, SX01M/K: key-operated switches
  • Coding to DIN EN ISO 14119 (low, medium, high)
